Available Services
Each client has a unique set of challenges and a unique set of personal goals. Together, the physiotherapist and the client discuss what is most important to them and how that might be accomplished. This may involve exercise (both while the therapist is present and between appointments), joint mobilizations, soft tissue techniques such as massage and stretching, or advice regarding equipment and the person's environment. Below is a list of some of the main conditions for which service can be offered by Shaun Neufeldt Mobile Physiotherapy.
This is by no means an exhaustive list. If you feel that physiotherapy may be helpful for you or your loved one, don't hesitate to contact us to discuss how we might be able to help.
Post Surgical Rehab
After surgery, whether joint replacement, fracture repair, or repair of soft tissues like muscles and tendons, physiotherapy can greatly improve range of motion and strength, helping the client to achieve the highest possible level of post-op function.

Vestibular Physiotherapy
Vestibular physiotherapy has to do with dizziness issues. Vertigo is a type of dizziness which causes a person to feel like they are moving or the world is spinning or moving abnormally around them. It can be very uncomfortable. In some cases, fixing vestibular problems can be relatively easy, and in others it takes a bit more time. Vestibular physiotherapy can be very effective in reducing and often eliminating these issues of vertigo.
Massage
Soft tissue massage is often used as one of many parts of a treatment program. However, as a client centred practice, if a client wishes that a greater part of treatment sessions would be devoted to relaxation or deep tissue massage, we are happy to provide that service.
Musculoskeletal injuries
Acute strains or sprains, or even chronic conditions such as arthritis, can cause pain, along with limited mobility and function. Physiotherapy can guide clients on the road to optimal recovery and often speed up the recovery process.
Amputee Rehab
After an amputation, the limb needs to maintain strength and range of motion at the remaining joints and muscles. This is especially important if the use of a prosthesis is the goal. The client's core and other limbs also need to be able to provide the needed support to the now missing body part. Physiotherapy can guide the healing process, including shaping the residual limb at home in preparation for specialized prosthesis training once surgical healing is complete and the residual limb is ready for a prosthesis.
Cardiac care
Physiotherapy can help to guide the rehab process after a heart attack (myocardial infarction). This could involve setting up an exercise program and providing education regarding activity progression.
Stroke Rehab
A stroke is a brain injury. Every stroke is different and every stroke recovery is different. Stroke rehab seeks to help the injured part of the brain to recover and / or to teach other parts of the brain to take over for the injured part. After a stroke, physiotherapy can help with recovery of movement, balance, and control of the affected body parts.
Elder Care
As we and our loved ones age, we tend to lose strength, movement of our limbs and spine, and mobility. Elder care from a physiotherapist, offered in personal care homes or any other residential setting, can help to improve strength, balance, walking, and general function. It can include any of the other mentioned services, as well as making recommendations regarding equipment to improve safety in daily life and reduce the risk of falling.
